Sustainability at our core

Green building best practice and sustainability is integrated into the development of Garden City, from its architecture, environmental engineering, structural engineering and landscape design, through to interior design and lighting. Garden City Mall is home to Africa’s largest solar panelled rooftop parking facility, and the completed retail and residential properties are the first mixed-use development in East Africa to gain LEED’s international Gold certification.

In 2013, Garden City was awarded Vision 2030 status by the Kenyan Government in recognition of its economic growth impact.

Security at Garden City

The safety of residents and visitors is paramount to Garden City Management. We have a full security system in place including state-of-the-art equipment installed throughout the project; guards (Securex) are trained by international expert consultants, and there is an independent security manager on site.

Security features include:

    • ∙ Security guard stations and bollards at all exit and entry points with additional CCTV cameras
    • ∙ Resident card access to shopping mall and the central park
